Directions: Borders the Magra River, on the opposite side from the town of Ameglia. A gourmet restaurant, owned and run by the chef. Summer service in the garden, overlooking where the Magra River empties into the Ligurian Sea. Reservations required. Does not open for dinner unti 8:30 p.m. The restaurant has a Michelin star. Dinner for one, including antipasto, secondo, dessert and a glass of wine, was 77 euros. The inn has four lovely rooms for overnight guests. They were among the nicest I've stayed in in Italy. Approximately $125 a night. It has an equipped, pay beach that is open to day-trippers. It's also about a mile from the archeological site of Luni, an ancient Roman settlement, and a mile from another good restaurant called Paracucchi Locanda dell'Angelo.
