Agriturismo with fabulous home-grown and freshly prepared foods

Friends directed us to this agriturismo outside Maser (and a short drive from Asolo) and we were thrilled they did! Crowded and lively, we were seated at a long table already occupied on the opposite end by an Italian couple. They said they drive an hour to dine here monthly. Melo in Fiore is a working farm with a few rooms to rent and the restaurant, which serves produce from their farm, including their own wines, and are apparently famous for their Bistecca Fiorentina, as our table-mates told us, and this was evident when more than half the tables seemed to be receiving huge platters of it. The menu changes daily and is recited by the busy waitress. We ordered two primi and split the gigantic Fiorentina which was served with roasted vegetables. The entire meal was delicious and fun, as the packed house was alive with buzzing conversation. We enjoyed being seated with some locals and trying to converse above the din and clatter. If you find yourself in Maser this is a wonderful and very inexpensive choice for dinner. Dinner for two including wine weighed in under 25 Euro.
