Wonderful, delicious food! Excellent wine list and prices.

Shannon and I had a late dinner at this atmospheric wine bar our first night in Sicily. Mi manda Picone is a dusky and narrow space, with one long table in the wine tasting area near the entrance. In the back part of the room are rows and rows of wine bottles. Shannon and I sat down at the long table and joined a solo diner. There are other tables in the next room, and more upstairs. (I think!)

As might be expected, there's a huge selection of wines; very reasonably priced. Shannon chose a a bottle of tasty red wine for us to drink with dinner. We shared a wonderful salad of greens and arugula with chopped cooked pancetta and fresh pomegranate seeds. Shannon had a piece of deliciously seasoned pork that was so tender and well roasted that it fell off the bone with just a little nudge. Her meal also came with mashed potatoes. I had a bowl of eggplant ravioli in a red sauce; there might have been some anchovy in it - it was a little bit salty (which I liked). Large portions; we could easily have shared one entree and been satisfied. Total for meal and wine: €47

... We tried to return here a couple of times, but they keep very limited hours. Shannon thinks they told her only 7pm-10pm!
