A wonderful, home-y small osteria, recommended to us by a local man just closing up his shop for "siesta".

This small home-y osteria was recommended to us by a local Lecce man just closing his shop for "siesta". We originally asked for directions to get to Il Giardino restaurant, recommended to us by our B&B host. This man told us Osteria degli Spiriti was much better, less expensive, etc. And we decided to trust him. Boy were we NOT disappointed.

It was a very nice place and the food was outstanding and not expensive. We started with a small 6-plate antipasti which included some quiche-type veggie offerings, all sorts of marinated and cooked veggies and and wonderful special breads and crackers. We each had a very good pasta dish (spaghetti with eggplant, tomatoes and grated ricotta - never seen that before; maccheroni with tomato sauce and strong ricotta) and finished with coffee.

It came to a very reasonable 37€ for all three of us and I can highly recommend this place.
