Hearty lunch deals - arrive early to get a table.

We stopped in here after visiting the Campo dei Miracoli on a drizzly day and were met with a warm atmosphere and hearty food. We arrived by 12:30 - a good thing because it quickly filled up with some other tourists and many locals.

We chose the lunch special of osso bucco with saffroned rice. The veal had good flavor and was extra tender, and the rice was a nice change of pace from eating so much pasta! We drank a quarter liter of the house red wine which tasted fine. Total cost = 30 euros.

Somewhere in between a budget place and fine dining, this osteria definitely hit the spot and provided a restorative break after marching around all the tourist sites!
