Osteria del Cucco is one of those "real finds" that you remember fondly. It is an old tavern, just a few tables, and a charming owner. Food is outstanding!

Directions: It is hard to find and so your best bet is ask some one where it is. If you find the street, look carefully for restaurant as there is no name signage.

This little place has it all--except space. Charming, excellent food, atmospheric, genial host--just quite special. There is no menu--you are served the food of the day.

We were there for lunch which consisted of several antipasti--served one at a time, all being outstanding; several varities of wonderful, nutty homemade breads; three pastas and an apertif. The food is regional and so is different and fun after many meals in more frequented regions of Italy. The preparation of each dish was wonderful. One of the antipasti was a salad covered with black truffles. Sorry but I can't remember the others--except how good they were. The pasta dishes were equally. We ended up asking a barber where the Osteria was and so he simply led us there and announced us to the owner. Enjoy!
