Small and authentic osteria with nice food. Daily menu and very good and huge selection of wine. Also small snacks and fingerfood. Nice seating!

Directions: 15 minutes from Rialto or San Marco - Cross Ponte d. Accademia and walk over Rio de San Trovaso (Calle Corfu Gambara) to Fondamenta della Toletta Dorsoduro (left on Calle Toletta) or take the Traghetto at San Samuele and walk to Campo San Barnaba, turn to Calle de Casin and walk 300 m to F. della Toletta. Very nice area too!

We found this place by mistake because we were looking for Osteria Vini Padovani, which does not exist any more. So we went there, because the customers seemed to be Venetians and the menu was reasonable and fresh. The waiter - a 60 year old man - was very friendly and helpful. We had a bruschetta with prosciutto and mozzarella; they had a huge variety of different bruschette.

As a main dish my girlfriend had a classical pizza and I had delicious fresh pasta. Of course, also the pizza was great but the pasta was just amazing. Fresh al dente pasta with very delicious and tasty sauce. We ordered vino della casa - white house wine ... we ordered 2 half liter carafes because it was so good. Website: EnotecaArtisti

As dessert we shared pastry which was also good, yet not very special. However, the bill came out to some €30 with water and bread -- we were very satisfied with the overall impression, food and place.

The small restaurant has 5 tables outside (room at each for 2 people) along the Riva della Toletta. It is not a busy area, yet some tourists will stroll by and a famous masque-shop is nearby. Go there at 1pm and you will have shade without umbrellas - very relaxing! An ice-cream place is nearby - or walk a bit longer to Campo Santa Margherita to Il Doge ... A perfect lunch in Venice!
