A delightful lunch in beautiful, historic San Leo.

Directions: Right in the center of San Leo.

We went to this restaurant upon Gavin's recommendation. Since we had recently learned about Pecorino di Fossa, we ordered ravioli stuffed with this kind of cheese - very good. Pecorino di fossa is produced only in 2 places and only in this region (if I've got that correct) and is very strong. In the ravioli dish, the strongness was muted, but still quite good. We followed that by Gavin's suggestion of coniglio selvatico. Well, Gavin, -- the breast meat was a little bit dry and the portion was huge and a bit too rich for me - but that's a personal preference. I usually have a huge appetite, but couldn't finish it. The rabbit was stuffed with herbs and sausage as well as a very large piece of liver (not sure it was rabbit liver because it was so large!??) I know that it is difficult to cook a rabbit or game bird and keep the breast meat juicy. Perhaps the cook slipped a little. Oh well. The dish was still very good - the leg and thigh meat was excellent. Very good grilled vegetables.

3 people: 3 primi, 3 secondi, 2 contorni, 2 dolci (can't remember what we had, but it was good), coffee, water, wine - 72 Euro.
