Upscale dining experience at moderate prices in beautiful Trevi

La Vecchia Posta is located on the main piazza at the top of pretty Trevi. Small and charming, nicely decorated, with soft music and soft colors and a soft-spoken waiter it felt upscale, but without an upscale price. The two rooms held about 12 tables; it was too cold for the piazza dining. The waiter brought us bruschetta with asparagus spread to enjoy with our wine as we perused the menu. Bryan’s ravioli with gorgonzola sauce was magnificent; I opted for the fusilli with fresh wild asparagi, which was very tasty. We shared a secondo of fork-tender pork loin medallions with red onion and blood-orange sauce, and a contorno of thinly sliced braised artichokes. Desserts looked fabulous but we were too full to attempt it. Dinner for two with house wine came to only €33.
