We ate here on a Thursday when we discovered that our original destination, K2, was closed. We were walking along via Fillungo back to the B & B and saw this spot off to the left. It looked good so we gave it a shot. We were seated outside and it proved to be an excellent spot to watch the stream of tourists and Lucchese go about their day. There were many pizzas and calzone on the menu. I ordered a calzone that was stuffed with multiple fillings – in fact the waiter warned me that it might take a bit longer to cook and be more browned on the top than usual because it would be stuffed so full. Paul ordered a calzone as well but opted for one with fewer fillings. We enjoyed our sparkling water and wine while we waited for the meals. Because the restaurant is located on a dead-end street there wasn’t a lot of foot traffic directly beside you – just off in the distance on via Fillungo. The calzones were huge and the kitchen was generous with the fillings. Mine was crispy on the top, as the waiter had warned me it would be, but instead of tasting burnt had that wonderful flavour from the wood burning oven. We were concerned that we wouldn’t be able to finish these but of course, we managed to eat every bite! Our lunch cost 22 euro for two calzone, sparkling water, and wine.
