Our favorite restaurant since our first visit to Milan in 1987. We eat there every trip.

Directions: Via Solferino is the extension of the Via Brera. The entrance is actually on the corner of Via Palermo. A short walk from La Scala or the Moscova Metro station.

After checking in to our hotel we made a bee line to Rigolo, our favorite restaurant in Milan. It's near Castello Sforzesca, an easy walk from the Galleria area or the Moscova Metro station. Don't be dismayed by the vehicles in my picture. It is an elegant restaurant and not a biker bar.

Since 1987 we have consistently enjoyed the food there featuring mostly Milanese specialties such as veal tricolore, osso buco, and dishes featuring deep fried zucchini blossoms. There is almost always an excellent pate or terrine as a first course.

On our latest visit in October we ordered our usual bottle of Prosecco. The two of us started by sharing an order of a delicious pate' di fagiano. We know it is indulgent but we do enjoy the additional butter served with the toast points.

Jane had a dish of fried mozzarella with zucchini blossoms and i had the luscious fried baccala with fried artichokes.

With a bottle of water the bill was 63 euros.
