Fabulous views and the pesto lasagna I dream about!

Not only does this restaurant serve delicious food but its location at the foot of Castello Doria affords spectacular views of both Vernazza and the sea if you are seated on the terrace. Although it is a bit of a climb to reach it, it is well worth the effort.

I have had some of my best meals in Italy in Liguria and the creamy pesto lasagna served at Al Castello is definitely the best lasagna I have tasted anywhere! I dream about this dish it was so good. My husband had a delicious spaghetti vongole that he was more than happy with. If I remember correctly, the prices were inexpensive for the pasta dishes and the service was very accommodating, even at the end of their lunch hours.

I would happily climb my way back up those many stairs for another taste of that lasagna!
