Nothing really wrong but there are better choices in Montepulciano.

Directions: Just off the main street in the lower part of the town, sort of across the street from Albergo Marzocco, down a short alley.

We ate here after returning late from a long day trip to Florence. It was the closing day for Diva e Maceo, and we were too tired to climb farther into the town. Perhaps we'd have been happier if we'd been less tired, but this meal was OK without being much better than that. If you're in our situation, you can get a decent meal here, but there are better options if you're willing to walk a little farther.

One problem was that the upstairs dining room was full so we were given a table downstairs where we were the only diners throughout our meal. Service suffered a little from this isolation though not as much as it could have done.

The menu has most of the standard Tuscan choices and a list of pizzas (evenings only). Mom and Dad split a pizza primavera which was OK, but not great. It's the thin-crusted "northern" style of pizza, which coming from Naples we don't especially enjoy! I had pici all'aglione and Kim had pici con ragu. Both were good, though the pasta wasn't homemade (I know - we're spoiled!!). She then had stracetti (beef slices) con aceto balsamico and I had salsicce alla brace. The beef was good and the sausages were outstanding. With house wine and water dinner came to 70 Euros, a fair bargain for what we'd eaten.

I don't know if we'd return and there are better choices in town, but it wasn't really a bad experience - just a less than exciting one.
