Anacapri: Ristorante Pizzeria Le Arcate

A restaurant where the "locals" eat, just off Piazzetta Vittoria.

I had read about this restaurant in a Travel and Leisure article about Anacapri. It was billed as a restaurant that the locals frequented and that sounded appealing to us for our last meal in Anacapri.

It is located on a busy road, so a table away from the street would have been more peaceful; we found out too late in our meal to comfortably move. It is true that the patrons were mostly Italian and there was not too much English spoken.

I had a grilled fish that was good, but not as memorable as some of the fish dishes I had experienced in Sorrento. Jim had a ravoli dish that was a house special, I believe. Again, it was good but not memorable. They did not offer a limoncello as other restaurants had done but I was in the mood for some so we ordered it. I was put off when the bill came and the charge was 4 for the typical small glass of limoncello. I think that may have soured me on this restaurant as I felt the Italian customers would have been offered it without charge. Overall, a fine but not special meal.
