This was one of our best dining experiences in our 4 week travel around Italy. Fabulous food, service, wine and outlook.

I must mention that this restaurant is not the easiest to get to but be patient, it is well worth the long, winding, unsigned road. Although it felt like a very long 8 km from Greve, it is a must. Very friendly service with a little surprise at the end...our first tast of Limoncello. Definitely recommend a vist to this restaurant.

So good we went back the next week.

Directions: In the small town of Lamole outside Greve in Chianti

We stumbled on this restaurant after leaving Greve and were so glad we did! The food was superb. The staff was friendly with the manager and even other waiters taking time to say hello. When we went back the next week they all remembered us like old friends.

We sat on the terrace and enjoyed a beautiful view across the valley to Montefioralle. The wine list was long, but with help we chose the local Chianti Lamole di Lamole, which was wonderful. At the end of our meal we were treated to the best Limoncello (made in house) we had in Italy.

When visiting Tuscany, we always make sure to stay in Greve 2 nights, just to eat here. Food, wine, view are worth the long narrow road. Try risotto with melon!!

We love looking for different restaurants all the time. Possibly not in the centre of a town. We found this one at the end of a long, narrow road and fell in love with it immediately. The view is stunning from the terrace. The staff was friendly and even helped us to find a nice hotel. We've been there 5 times now, in 3 years. In July we go again.Try risotto with melon!!

Wonderful out of way restaurant in Greve.

Directions: Definitely call for directions!

We loved this out of the way restaurant.

They have a terrific Lamole Chianti and friendly servers. The highlights of our dinner included white truffles over pasta, veal sausage, a great pear appetizer, and the best creme caramel.

We had a wonderful lunch here while enjoying their lovely view.

We arrived here shortly after 2:30 (after an unfortunate driving detour, we were behind our planned schedule) for lunch and the kitchen had already closed. However, they very kindly offered to fix us some things that didn't need cooking. We had a lovely lunch of assorted meats and cheeses, large enough that we could have shared one. Huge fresh, crisp assorted green salads (again, we could have shared one). Bread, water and coffee. They also gave us each a complimentary limoncello.

The weather did not allow us to eat on their balcony, but our table by the window afforded a beautiful view of the countryside. Service was outstanding.

We'll definitely try to eat a "real" meal here on future trips.

Total for lunch for 2: 37.50 euros

Wonderful, typical Tuscan food in a relaxed setting. I wish I had come during the day to see the views!

Directions: A few miles south of Greve, you'll see a turnoff for Lamole. Take this road, and keep going and going and going (much of it uphill) until you hit the restaurant.

The food was superb! They serve typical Tuscan cuisine here. It's all very well prepared - we each had something different, and every dish was sensational. The restaurant is near the Lamole di Lamole Chianti Classico vineyard, so this is the featured wine. The winelist has many other good wines, in all price ranges.

The only drawback might be the drive up (and down!). It's a narrow 2 lane road up and down the mountain, and you feel like you're driving forever to get there. It is, however, very much worth the trip. Be sure to call for reservations first.

Highly recommended! Be sure to ask for an outside, balcony table, the sunset (I'm told) is glorious (look at the pictures on the web site).

Very nice country restaurant in a village - fabulous views. Good outside seating.

Directions: On a white road, east from Greve.

We had lunch here in June 1997. Good food, friendly waiters. Recommended by The Parker Company. We sat on patio up in the cooler hills with a view of the valley and Panzano. Wonderful. You can do a nice hike from this village. www.ristorodilamole.it
