A pleasant surprise! Great food in a lovely little campo

Directions: Cą Rezzonico vaporetto stop

We stopped for lunch here because we didn't want fish and the menu seemed promising. We were a bit hesitant because of the dreaded tourist menu, but were soon at ease.

We had the house red, a nice light cabernet, and started with the antipasti de verdue, which was very unusual and very good. Instead of the usual grilled veggies, we were served zucchini stuffed with ricotta and herbs, a bit mushroom stuffed with gorgonzola, eggplant rollatini. cheesse), pumpkin cooked in the traditional saor style (onion/raisin/pine nuts marinade), a spicy red cabbage slaw, and some type of bitter apple mixture. In the center was a pool of warm polenta.

For a main course we had two pastas: gnocchi with fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese and seppie con nero with polenta.

With mineral water, the cost was 51.50 euros. We thought it was a reasonable price for such a good meal.

Really good food. I can't wait to go back for dinner!
