Wonderful abundant food, friendly staff and owner, great price, most highly recommended

We enjoyed two dinners in this wonderful restaurant. Our first night in Puglia was Wednesday and it seems like many restaurants were closed on that day. We walked into several before choosing this one and we were very pleased that we did.

While I detest choosing anything called a "tourist menu", this was called something like "menu of the day" and it included the following : an antipasti of wonderful bruschetta with olive oil, tomatoes and lots of arugula, a huge cheese plate with a selection of about 8 different kinds, a primi piatti of pasta (we chose the typical orchiette with cherry tomatoes and arugula), a secondi piatti of fish or meat (we chose an excellent veal scallopini), a lemon sorbet desert, red or white wine and water. All for a grand total of €20 each (we were three people).

The owner knew enough English and French for us to completely understand him, he was patient, kind and very friendly. He made sure we had whatever we needed/wanted and on the second night, when we decided we did not want so much food, we dropped the primi piatti and antipasti but had all the rest. This time the chef also started us with "his speciality" (maybe because we did not even order the antipasti and he thought we would be hungry?) which was very good. We were greeted as old friends from all the way down the street already even before we entered the restaurant and before we left and said that we would not be returning again only because we are leaving Trani the following morning, the owner wanted to know where we are going, giving us tips, etc. This time the meal was only 15 Euros each.

Extremely highly recommended!!!
