La Brace is a “grandmother’s kitchen” kind of a place. It’s a family run, down-home cooking establishment. They offer a take-out service, and have 7 or 8 tables for those dining in. The menu, which changes daily, is written on a blackboard. We enjoyed two meals here during our week in Asciano, both very good and basic…offerings such as meatloaf, seppia in tomato sauce, a quarter-chicken roasted with potatoes, lasagne and another pasta speciality plus various vegetables each day. Very good food; we enjoyed dining in as well as getting a meal for take-out which we enjoyed on the roof terrace of our tower. Primi were only 4 euros each, secondi between 5 and 6 euros each. Amazingly inexpensive for very tasty dishes! Very friendly proprietors. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
