My friend Daniele, who grew up in the Oltrarno area of Florence, recommended this trattoria. Very good friends of his have owned it for about 3 or 4 years. Daniele had worked as a waiter for years in the same neighborhood so I value his opinion. He was spot on! Having met Stefano and Gabriele earlier in the day, I made reservations for myself for later that evening. I arrived at 7:30PM and was quickly seated. this was on a Wednesday. I began the evening with a delightful glass of Vernaccia di San Gimignano (which they kindly did not charge me for). I also had a bottle of Panna S. Pellegrino (€2,50). To start I had the special, fagottino di pasta fresca con ricotta e carciofi (€14,00). This was delicious and beautifully presented. It was in a thin pasta shell with the ricotta/artichoke filling. The pasta shell was delicately wrapped over the filling. For my secondo I had a delicious and generous amount of grilled chicken breast, “tagliata pollo” (€14,00). The chicken was tender, moist and flavorful. I also had a side of homemade potato chips. I did not have dessert. Total, including coperto, was €33,00. Colleen and I returned here (on my recommendation) on Friday evening. We each got 1/4 liter vino della casa rosso e bianco. Colleen commented that the rosso was very smooth. Each 1/4 liter was only €3,00. The casa rosso was Colivicchi. Looking at my notes, evidently the 1/4 liter wasn’t enough as we each ordered another glass of wine! Again, I had the Fagottino, just as delicious as the first time! Colleen enjoyed the spaghetti cacio burro e pepe (€9,00.) We shared a flavorful and filling Ossobuho Reale con risotto allo zafferano e verdure del giorno! (€19,00.) We did have a dessert, cheesecake that was melt in your mouth delicious! Total for our meals, including coperto was €65,50. I would recommend this friendly trattoria to anyone visiting (or living) in Florence!
