The most romantic meal (a lunch, in fact) we have ever had in Italy. Oh yes, the food is primo.

Directions: In the little town of Pigge, a "suburb" of Trevi, on the highway connecting Perugia with Spoleto. There are a few signs on the road.

Have eaten there at lunch and dinner. Will do so again in a few weeks. Stunning outdoor space and multi level interior.

This restaurant was truly exceptional and one of our favorites. It was predominantly a fish restaurant set on the banks of a river.

There is a beautiful large outdoor terrace. Unfortunately, it rained the day we were there but the interior was not a disappointment. It was casually elegant without being stuffy with lovely table settings. The owner, Claudio di Menichelli, was very helpful in guiding us through his extensive menu and making suggestions. The food - presentation as well as quality and inventiveness - was top-notch. He even brought us a sampler of desserts "on the house". They were very impressive. Because of the rain we were in no rush. It was a wonderful atmosphere to linger.
