Terra Terra offers something a little different in Florence. It's owners are from Sardenia. Their menu has traditional dishes from both Sarda and Toscana.

Directions: Side street off the duomo piazza. Near the English Book Exchange store.

We enjoyed this restaurant because it offers a break from pure Tuscan food. The food is good and there is a charming Sardinian, Cristian, who makes it a fun place to be. I had Pane Fratttau (pan'e vresa) which was layers of thin Sardinian bread with tomatoes, blanched egg and pecorino cheese. It was very, very good and different. One order is plenty for two people. You can ask for it to be divided and then each plate comes with an egg. Ken had a home-made Sardinian pasta with Sardinian sausage sauce which was quite good and was different from its Tuscan relative. We also had a Sardinian misto antipasti which had a delicious assortment of "things." Of course, we completed it all with a good dulce.

Many of the products used in this restaurant and flown in weekly from Sardinia.
