Lovely restaurant with large garden area for outdoor eating in a beautiful town. Great food too!

We went for lunch because of Bill from Montichiello's recommendation of this restaurant (Bill knows his food!) and because people had been talking about it on the message board. We had a wonderful lunch.

The restaurant in is in the historical center of San Quirico, down a small road from the main piazza. You enter into a large, walled garden set up with about 30 tables. A few turtles live in the garden - you can see them wandering around. The menu is good with a good selection of vegetarian (and non-vegetarian) antipasti and primi. Also 3 vegetarian secondi (which you don't usually find).

We started with some great bruschetta. For Primo, I had spagetti with tomato and basil, Steve had a vegetable soup, our friend Paula had Gnocchi with truffles. For Secondo, I had two vegetables (potato and spinach), Steve had tagliatellili with porcini and Paula had grilled vegetables. We finished with Panna Cotta and coffee. The total was 67 Euro for the three of us. I don't think we had wine with this meal.

The food was very good, the setting beautiful and the service very good. I would definately go to this restaurant again.

The garden is just what you've always dreamed it should look like in Italy. All pasta is fatto al mano (hand made); good prices, excellent food.
