Internationally recommended seafood restaurant that we were perhaps too exhausted to fully appreciate.
Directions: On the eastern side of the hill with the Castello San Giusto. Don't attempt this on foot from the port area.
We visited this seafood restaurant on the basis of reviews in several guidebooks and publications. It was perhaps a mistake to go after a grueling afternoon climbing the stairs of the Grotto Gigante and after our GPS led us up a three-tier series of stairs to the Park of Remembrance before discovering the restaurant halfway back down the hill.
This is a simple, almost rustic restaurant where you are greeted warmly by the owner/chef. We took his suggestion of the mixed seafood antipasto for each of us. The tastes of almost a dozen different preparations was good. But the plate seemed overcrowded and unattractive.
Really too tired to eat any more we passed on his suggestions of grilled sole among other dishes.
With a carafe of Trebbiano frizzante, one lemon sorbet and complimentary grappa our bill came to under 40 euro.
I am sorry our plans did not allow us to give this interesting restaurant another try, but I just can't give it a fully positive recommendation based on our experience.
The walk back to the hotel was a piece of cake once we managed to avoid the hill again.
