Directions: At the Porta Sargozza at the beginning of the porticoed hike to San Luca. Easily reached by the #20 bus from via dell'Independenza. This wonderfully authentic restaurant is a nice reward after a morning hike up to San Luca. Three of us had lunch here in October of 2007. There are no menus and the staff speak limited English. But wih only about three choices for each course, you will do fine. The delicious food is worth any confusion. We started with heavenly gnocchi in butter and sage, rich pasta e fagioli, and traditional pasta Bolognese. After that two us had the polpette (meatballs) and the other the roast stuffed rabbit. With water and a carafe and quarter of red wine (Sangiovese superiore) the bill was 90 euro. This is an extremely popular restaurant so reservations are advised or arrive early as we did.
