Fantastic setting, but watch out for dishonest staff!

Directions: 10 minute cab ride from center of Florence

Gorgeous setting, particularly when dining on the outside terrace with a view of the Florentine hills. Some of the food, particularly the bistecca alla fiorentina, was the best I've had in Italy. However, some of our warm dishes arrived late and cold.

The five of us were given a bill for 258.40 euros (or more than $300), and the waiter who brought our credit card receipt told us twice that service was not included (in perfect english). One of his colleagues then came to our table to repeat this. A check of our bill showed that we had been charged for dishes we did not order or have. Although surprised, I paid the two waiters a cash tip so as not to embarrass further our dinner guests, but my wife and I checked on this the next day with the restaurant manager who assured us that tip was in fact included.

The bottom line is: watch your wallet because the staff at this restaurant is dishonest.
