This is by far one of my favorite places in Praiano.
This is by far one of my favorite places in Praiano. I always return every other year. We stayed for 5 weeks this time, so we ate out a lot.
We had so many meals, lunch or dinners at Gennaro. We loved the house red wine. We ordered it by the bottle and even took some home. The service was unbelievable, we loved our server, Rossella. She knew what to what we would like and after a while she knew what we wanted. She always ended our meal with three shots of different liquor. I think this is one of the top three best pizzas on the Amalfi Coast. But I think we liked Gennaro's the best.
We became addicted to Pizza. Had it for lunch most afternoons, with a cold beer, sometimes wine. We loved the very large serving of small clams with linguini in a garlic and butter sauce. To die for!! The lasagne, honestly it is a huge serving and you will love it. I have never had lasagna this good and I was married to an Italian, and we had an Italian Restaurant in North Palm Beach, Florida for years.
There is a lovely view of the church and the sea. So much was going on the first week we arrived, a celebration for the restored bell tower and Saint Gennaro. The whole week had something happening, even a evening concert at the church. We enjoyed so many events over looking it from Trattoria San Gennaro.. Great food, wonderful service, awesome wine. Fab service by Rossella...

Good choice for a casual meal in Praiano.
Directions: On the main road, with a terrace that overlooks the church square.
We had a light dinner here for 6 people - antipasto plate, 3 pastas (both tasty), a pizza (fairly large - at least 2 people could share), large serving of veal cutlet and 2 orders of french fries that came out on a HUGE plate - my son was thrilled!
Wine and 2 bottles of water, came out to €68. Good solid food for a casual meal with pleasant views.
