The little back street hides a wonderful dining experience. The chef and wait staff are lovely Italians who are running a beautiful neighbourhood restaurant. They are very welcoming and coped with our basic Italian. They made the evening a delightful, leisurely experience. The speciality must be the risotto which is excellent. We dined the first night and had the risotto tartuffo nero which was earthy, smooth and a perfect texture. There was a delay in dining since risotto takes time but it was truly worth it. The restaurant understood this and treated us to a sample of an antipasti dish along with warm bread.

The mains are very good and include a selection of meat and vegetable choices. The fillet of beef with pepper sauce was cooked to perfection (med rare) and was a lovely cut of meat. It was served with a stuffed tomato.

The wine list is simple but has a range of good and well priced local wines. We enjoyed the dry white Soave which was a good compliment to our meals. The beef certainly deserved an Italian red which you can buy by the glass as well as the bottle.

A sign of our enjoyment was our second visit. We ate antipasti dishes and then the risotto con funghi et scampi as the funghi is a regional specialty. It was delicious. We completed the meal with a simple dessert and Italian coffee.

All the dishes are beautifully presented on the plate which reflects the kitchens desire to please the eye as well as the palate. We are very happy to recommend this neighbourhood restaurant and feel it is a wonderful dining experience especially when we acknowledge the good price point. Both evenings we paid between 65 and 75 euros which is lower than a lot of the tourist locations we have visited.
