Restaurant with rooms. This is a great place to stay and/or eat when exploring Northern Tuscany.

This is a great place to stay when exploring Northern Tuscany. La Nina is located just outside the small village of Montecarlo but within easy striking distance of Lucca, Montecatini and Florence. If you are interested in wine it makes a good base from which to explore the little known wine regions of Montecarlo and Colle Lucchese.

La Nina is primarily a restaurant with 10 guest rooms in an adjacent building. The owners have recently restored a villa to create 10 elegant bedrooms which are spacious, quiet and comfortable. They are equipped with the very latest in modern technology; air-conditioning, phones and satellite tv all at the push of a button. The attached bathrooms are large, light and beautifully clean with excellent showers and fluffy towels. The building is set in gorgeous gardens with a panoramic view over the valley. Peace reigns supreme. The hotel is located about 2.5 km out of Montecarlo so a car is essential.

In addition to all this the restaurant is well worth a visit. While the main speciality is grilled meats and game, which you can see being prepared over a roaring open fire, interesting vegetable dishes are also available as well as delicious desserts. The service is excellent, the wine list extensive and at the price its a steal. Dinner and an overnight stay for two cost just over 100 Euro. This is a great place to stay far from the madding crowds, in a quiet location at a reasonable price. NB Breakfast is not served.
