A popular restaurant in Recco, known for focaccia. Excellent food.

Directions: On the main road in Recco, the town just before Camogli. As you get off the exit ramp from the Genova road, turn right, and the restaurant is down a bit on the left, a light green building.

This is a good restaurant just off the Genova-Portofino highway, and close to Camogli. It seemed to be very popular for lunch with vacationing Italians and businessmen. There's a cozy inner dining room and a pretty gazebo-style room beyond. We began by odering what everyone else was having, the focaccia with cheese. You may need to wait just a bit for this, as they make one huge size to share with several tables. With swift hacks of a huge knife, the waiter slices up portions to serve. It's delicious wafer-thin crust with mild white cheese melted on top. Very good!

We each ordered pasta. My spaghetti with vongole (tiny clams) was perfect, just sweet clams, oil, al dente spaghetti, a trace of chili and salt. My husband ordered something he'd never seen before, greens-filled ravioli served with a nut sauce. It was a great combination, the light ravioli and thick sauce that tasted clearly of hazlenuts.

The fish and seafood dishes we saw others eating for secondi looked great, and I'd love to return to give them a try.

Lunch for two (focaccia, 2 primi, 1/2 bottle of wine, water and coffee) was 44.
