Wonderful place to experience Cucina Romana

Armando al Pantheon is a favourite of ours. Wonderful atmosphere in a dining room that appears little changed over the years. Staff are extremely pleasant & knowledgeable. It pays to try the dishes that they recommend.

On this visit the mozzarella was suggested which turned out to be the creamiest example of this cheese that I have ever tasted. As it was a Thursday when we ate here this year we had gnocchi but in the past we have sampled other examples of cucina Romana such as coda alla vaccinara. For dessert do try the fruit-filled torta antica roma, a speciality of the house. We have never been disappointed on any of our visits and the location (so close to the Pantheon) proves the exception to the rule of never eating near a main tourist attraction.
