Pasta Fagioli, YUM, photo by mimi052347

After walking in the heat and through the market, we needed a beer. So we saw tables and chairs with people eating and stopped for a beer.

We noticed it was about time to eat, so we asked for menus. We only had nine days in Florence, and not really any place special to eat.

Well, as other have said, what a hidden GEM...We had the cheese gnocchi(Salentina), also a meat lovers pasta, both wonderful. The tiramisu was also wonderful. Pizza, very very good. We returned several times.

The service was exceptional, the young man that waited on us when ever we returned spoke great English and was very interesting to chat with. But the best thing of all was, pasta e fagioli. My late husband use to make this in his restaurant here in Florida. I always compared others to his, but nothing could compare to the pasta e fagioli I had at De Nelli's. Out of this world, wonderful... I wish I had some now.

I go to Italy every two years, to the Amalfi coast, stopping for a week some other place. You can bet I will go back to Florence, just for the pasta e fagioli. We ate there several times, loved to people watch at out door tables. Priced very reasonable.
