Typical Abruzzo fare at fair prices in a welcoming atmosphere

Another typical Abruzzese eatery offering home-made food at reasonable prices. They specialize in grilled fare and filling pastas. Bryan’s gnocchi was lighter than usual and melt-in-the-mouth creamy, topped with a light, tomato ragu. My Spaghetti alla Cesarini was delightfully spicy. We split a mixed grill secondo (chicken, sausage, lamb and pork chops – definitely plenty for two people on that single plate!) and the verdure della stagione, which was a large bowl of roasted peppers, grilled eggplant and zucchini and cooked greens. A small pitcher of the refreshing house white wine sated our thirst from the salty meats. Delightfully simple fare with a sweet waiter made us feel like family. The bill came to only €25.00, including house wine.
