Inexpensive, good food, in a great location near the Mercato Centrale.

We had lunch in early November 2010 at Trattoria Palle D'Oro. The food was inexpensive and good, the service friendly and competent. Pollo arrosto was 6 euros, pasta was 6 euros and a half liter of house red was 4 euros. The location can't be beat: just down the street from the Mercanto Centrale and a few steps away from Il Cantuccio di San Lorenzo. So, you can catch a quick lunch and then buy the best cantuccini. (Really...we had lots of the cantuccini during our four weeks in Florence. We learned about it from Judy Witts Franchini during the Mondays at the Market tour and went back over and over again!!)
