San Lorenzo: Trattoria Za-Za

Piazza del Mercato, 26r , Phone: 055.215411

Very disappointing experience

Directions: On the corner of via Rosina

The attractive feature of this restaurant is the large covered area outside - not so attractive when the planks of the floor bounced everytime the staff rushed by, jolting our seats and table. There seemed to be too few waiting staff for the crowded tables but several other members of staff not doing much except failing to manage the reservations and seating. We had booked for 8 pm but were squeezed onto a badly placed table for two and there were more than a few irked would-be diners having to queue despite having reservations.

My daughter's chicken was tasty, though the accompanying beans tasted of nothing, and my fish was well cooked, but served with the same overly oily grilled vegetables as that served as a main dish for our vegetarian friend. It is in a good location, but seems to be riding on the popularity from the guidebooks and does not give value for money in my view.
