> SlowTrav > Italy > Instructions for Visitors > Rome Transportation Hours of Operation Buses: most buses run from 5:30am to midnight, 7 days a week. You can expect fewer buses and longer waits on Sundays and Holidays. There are a few buses that run on different schedules, starting later, usually around 7am, and ending earlier, usually around 9 or 10pm. Buses with reduced hours don't generally run on Sundays. You'll see the hours of the bus at the bottom of the sign at the bus stop. There are also some night buses that begin around midnight and run all night, usually about every 30 minutes. The number always ends with an N (ex 60N). You can purchase tickets onboard the night buses for 1 euro. Metro: the metro runs from 5:30am to 11:30pm Sunday to Friday. Saturdays it runs until 12:30am. On Sundays, as with the buses, you can expect to wait a little longer. Some terms to note: Feriale - weekdays © SlowTrav.com, 2004 |
