house and apartment on farm near Radda, Tuscany Chianti Whenbefore 2001 ReviewLa Penisola is owned by Nora Kravis, an American woman living in Italy. La Penisola is the name of the farm, Chianti Cashmere Company is the name of her business. Nora is a veterinarian and raises cashmere goats on the farm. Nora resides on the property. There are two rental properties; a three bedroom, two bath house and a small apartment carved out of the house in which Nora lives. The house can accommodate up to five persons and the apartment no more than two. There is also a nice sized swimming pool. La Penisola is located outside Radda in Chianti. It sits astride a hillside with a panoramic 180-degree view overlooking an agricultural valley. Both the house and the apartment are furnished nicely, with comfortable, good-looking pieces. The kitchen in the house is very well equipped. There are dishes, pots, pans, a stove with oven, refrigerator, herbs, salt ... you get the picture! Just outside the kitchen door there is a pergola with a long, handsome plank table and chairs. There is also a table and chairs for eating indoors in case of inclement weather. The property is well planted with fruit trees, herbs and colorful flowers. The goats graze in various fields which are separated by fencing. Rentals are arranged for directly with the house owner, Nora Kravis. I have been renting La Penisola for a week or two for the past seven years and plan to continue to do so for time to come! We have stayed in several other houses in Italy, all of which we have rented once. We have rented La Penisola seven times. Need I say more? A caution - this is not fancy digs. Everything is well chosen and comfortable, but if anyone is looking for an elegant setting, then I would advise looking elsewhere.
