apartments in the historic center, Rome WhenJune 2004 , 9 days ReviewSeveral reviews have been written about the Palazzo Olivia. We, 2 adults and 3 teenagers, loved staying here. It is centrally located, near many restaurants and sites, close to many bus lines, and very close to the Campo dei Fiori for food shopping. Several people have voiced concern over the fact that there is no A/C. We were provided with 2 large room fans, which were adequate for our needs. I did notice that another apartment had a ceiling fan; we did not have one in our apartment. There was also some concern over noise from the very busy street, Corso Emmanuele, which is located at the corner. Yes, it can be somewhat noisy when the window is open, but it did not bother us. We communicated many times with Carla Benedetti, the manager, who was extremely friendly and helpful. She arranged airport taxi pickups and several other activities for us during our stay. Stefano, the owner, met us upon our arrival, and was available via cell phone during our stay for any problems or questions. He also gave us many suggestions for activities and restaurants. The 2bed/2bath apartment was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all amenities, which even included some water and soft drinks in the fridge. Lots of closet space, big bathrooms, washing machine. We would stay here again and highly recommend it. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
