3bed/2bath house on estate near Montone and Umbertide, Umbria WhenJuly 10 - 17, 2004, 1 week ReviewThe location was Montone, a smalled walled town off E-45. The property was on a large estate with two other smaller rentals and a beautiful setting on the hill overlooking the valley floor. You could see the town of Montone above you. The access to the home was via a 3-4 KM gravel road to a gated entrance. The home was equiped nicely including a washer and dishwasher. It had one full bath and a 3/4 bath. The beds were very comfortable and the accommocation was excellent. It had a large living room with fire place. A large kitchen with table and plenty of kitchen utensils, plates, glasses, etc. There was even a covered porch area to have meals under cover. The second floor had the master bedroom with a king bed, another bedroom with two twins which had a 3/4 bath en suite and another full bath. The third floor had two more twin beds only. The pool was very nice. Lots of beach lounge chairs and two covered areas for shade. Even though the gravel road to the main highway took 10 minutes it was no problem. I wish we could have walked to town but Montone or Umbertide were 10 minutes away. Everything we discussed with SummerLeases was accurate. The reason I am writing this is because of their honesty and assistance. I will lease from them again. I will get closer to a city though. The owner of the estate was available if needed. It was a pleasure to visit all the hill towns we explored in Umbria and Tuscany. We were lucky enough to have a jazz festival in Perugia the week we were there. Gubbio, Cortona and Asissi were wonderful together with the wines of Multipulciano and the ceramics in Deruta. We truely enjoyed the experience. Mille Grazie Summer Leases and Slow Travelers.
