Review 1076: ComfortItalia, Farnese I and II
apartments near Campo de' Fiori, Rome
February 2004, 2 weeks
My family of 9 people (7 adults and 2 children) took an amazing vacation to Rome last February and stayed in the most fabulous vacation rentals in Rome. We rented two attached apartments (Farnese I and Farnese II) from ComfortItalia that were right off the Campo dei Fiore. You couldn't ask for a more perfect location or two more perfect apartments.
Everything in the apartments was exactly how we expected it to be -- just as the pictures on their website showed. It was extremely comfortable and so much better for our large family than staying in a hotel. We could all hangout together in the livingroom and plan our day. It was great for the kids because they could feel more comfortable and at home than in a hotel. We could play games and relax in the evening when the kids were sleeping without having to worry about going back to our own hotel rooms. One night we even cooked a big family dinner where we all ate together at the fabulous dining room table in Farnese I and it was perfect. In fact, we were able to get everything we needed right in the Campo dei Fiori. Just a wonderful place to be. We loved being in the heart of Rome. Being able to mingle with Romans.
The restaurant below the apartment was wonderful as well and the people at the restaurant were so friendly to us. We ate there many times during our stay and the food was always fabulous. We came to know many of the shop owners around the apartment and we found them all very friendly and accommodating, even with our broken Italian.
Since our family was so large we rented the adjoining apartment Farnese II, which was a small studio with a bathroom and kitchenette. The apartment was very quaint and perfect for my family (my husband, my 2 young children and myself). The apartment was connected to the larger Farnese I by a double door, allowing us to be close to the rest of our family, while still having the option of using the separate entrance and closing off the doors for privacy.
Helen, the managing agent for ComfortItalia was wonderful and always helpful no matter if we called her for assistance with how to use the dishwasher or advice on Chinese takeout restaurants in the neighborhood. You can be assured that we will be referring ComfortItalia to all of our friends and family who are traveling to Italy.
