Review 111: TuscanHouse, Villa San Francesco
4bed/3.5bath house near Palazzone, Tuscany South
May 2001, 1 week
In May 2001 we stayed for one week in Villa San Francesco, a 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath house with a nice kitchen. It is located away from most tourist sites and well situated on a hill side overlooking vineyards and the countryside. We were all pleasantly surprised by the size of the house and the accommodations. The furniture at the villa was both comfortable and good quality. There were eight off us so we were a full house. But it did not seem full because the spaces were generous and the outside spaces were used as well.
We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, doing our laundry (there is a clothes washer), sitting by the pool, walking through the vineyards, eating eggs from the hen house, tasting the wine from the owner’s vines, walking to the small town of Palazone (where there are two small grocery stores and one restaurant/bar). It takes about 20 minutes to walk into Palazzone at a leisurely pace.
It is very peaceful yet close to the autostrada. Zak from TuscanHouse was a pleasure to work with and he even sent maps and a telephone calling card.
This was our groups first time to rent a house and it was a very pleasurable experience.
