2 bed 2 bath apartment near Piazza del Popolo, Rome

When

September 2004, 8 days

Location

The apartment was in Rome about 2 blocks from the Piazza del Popolo and a kilometer or so to the Spanish Steps walking through mostly pedestrian streets. The area was very quiet, mostly residential.

Nearby Amenities

There were two small supermarkets within a couple blocks. The metro stop was only a few blocks away and could take you to the major open air markets and large super markets. Restaurants were abundant in the pedestrian area between Popolo and the Spanish Steps.

The House/Apartment

The apartment was in a fairly modern building with double locked entry and a porter concierge. There were perhaps a dozen or so apartments.

Garden

This apartment was a top floor apartment with a very large private outdoor terrace off the living room. No pool.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Everything was fine - seating ample clean and comfortable. Many of the pieces were antique (or good reproductions).

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Beds were fine. The master bath had a tub and good shower - the second bath was small with a stall shower. The master bedroom was good sized the other small.

Kitchen

The kitchen was excellent and well equipped with an almost new dishwasher. Plenty of space.

Problems or Bonuses

Satellite TV (CNN, BBc, etc). Good Clothes washer and dryer. Elevator and door locks functioned well.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

I was picked up at the airport for a reasonable price and taken to the office where I was joined by a staff member who took me to the apartment and explained the appliances etc. Representatives were always helpful. I have forgotten the exact price but in September it was a little over $300 per night

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would definitely stay again and recommend to my friends.

Things to do in this area

Dal Bolognese is a well known restaurant in the Piazza del Popolo and was very good if expensive. There was an excellent vegetarian restaurant on via Margutta near the Piazza. Because of the excllent facilities, I took the majority of my meals in the apartment.
