studio sleeps 2 near Campo dei Fiori, Rome

When

October 21 - October 30 2004, 10 days

Location

Location was absolutely superb, near Campo dei Fiori. It is in the heart of Rome, its historical center. You can walk everywhere, we never used any public transportation. It was great to walk everywhere, and if we want to have a stroll around midnight, it was easy to do, just to out of this old building, and in a few minutes you are approaching Piazza Navona - what a treat! It was 80 degress all ten days, so our windows were open, and I would say that this place is not for a light sleeper but if you close the windows you will be fine. I wanted to rent a peaceful apartment only but ended up with this noise from the narrow street, but the location covered all my bad nights, it was great to be there.

Nearby Amenities

Well, it is a few steps from Campo dei Fiori - plenty of food, shops, huge morning market, great restaurants, and a very lovely night life - this is the place to be, really. I love it.

The House/Apartment

Yes, the building is historical, very old. There is one more apartment for rent on the same floor, and a few downstairs. It looks awful outside but pretty decent inside, if you are not extremely demanding. It was not expensive, so, take it as it is.

Garden

No garden.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

It was decent, not spotless, but ok. The furniture is very old but you will have spots where you can put your stuff. It is excellent for one person but for two is ok.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The bathroom is fine, with a good water pressure, and you have a warm water any time you want. There is one double bed which is comfortable but please, remember that you rent a studio, not a one bedroom apt.

Kitchen

Kitchen was fine even for cooking some simple dishes. I missed microwave though but I heated everything on top. Plenty of pots and pans, and dishes, and glasses, etc.

Problems or Bonuses

No surprises, I saw what I expected, Tim Pearson told me all.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The agency including Tim Pearson was a real treat, Tim was extremely informative and supportive. His drivers served us twice, it was in time and great in all aspects. He is fluent in English. It was 792 euros for nine nights. This location deserves this price regardless.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes, I certainly do. I would deal with Tim Pearson again if I go to Rome. He is a great help. I would recommend to tell him what you want in Rome, and he will find it for you.

Things to do in this area

I would recommend to buy all different kinds of food in all small shops on Campo dei Fiori, they will warm it for you, and in two minutes you are at home eating all that stuff hot, and you just ask yourself: Is it real?!?!? Pizza Rustica is highly recommended - we love it much more than in famous Buffeto.
