6bed/6bath villa near Lucca, Tuscany North 
WhenOctober 2004, 2 weeks LocationAWESOME ... Thank you Doorways! It was better then we thought it could be. The villa was warm and welcoming and very upscale. The owners were pleasant (and great cooks as well.) We really enjoyed being close to Lucca, but having our privacy on our own estate. A friend recommended Doorways to us, and we are so happy that we went with them. Be careful about cab drivers taking advantage ... allow the owners to contact the ones they know to take you into the city if you do not want to drive. A word of advice: a few rental cars is highly recommended so a big group can go on separate day trips. Nearby AmenitiesThe city of Lucca was within 5 minutes driving time, but there is a small village close by. They provide a restaurant guide ... use it, the restaurants they suggest were great, especially the one in the center of Lucca. The House/ApartmentA beautifully restored mansion. GardenBeatiful well-kept gardens, could allow kids to run around, above ground pool, did not use. Bedrooms/BathroomsEnough space, each couple had their own privacy and their own bathrooms. Big bedrooms. KitchenKitchen was great, did not do much cooking. Agency and Representatives (and price)The price was good. We shopped around on the internet and Doorways was about average compared to everyone else; we just like working with Doorways. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?We would stay at Leoni again and we are already planning a trip with Doorways for the spring of 2005.
