Review by Susan from NY

studio apartment near Campo dei Fiori, Rome

When

October 23 - October 30, 2004, 1 week

Location

Great location! Right around the corner from the Piazza Farnese and less than 5 minutes to the Campo de' Fiori. Just off Via Giulia, filled with fabulous antique shops. Convenient to everything! Couldn't ask for a better location! One night as I was cooking dinner for a friend, a strolling musician played his guitar and sang under the window for half an hour! Who could ask for more?

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The apartment is adorable. Attractively decorated. Comfortable furnishings. Decent closet space. Comfortable queen bed. Tiny but adorable bath (top quality towels!). Has TV, CD player, small kitchenette with 4 burners, small fridge and microwave and sink. I cooked several simple meals. It was clean! There is a small sofa, a beanbag chair and a dining table with 4 chairs. Nice lighting and lighting to read by in bed!

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Bed was comfortable and linens were very nice. The bed is in an alcove. The bath is very attractive. Tiny but more than sufficient.

Kitchen

As I said, I cooked dinner for Roman friends (which takes guts for an American!) and they were impressed. The kitchen is tiny, but I live in New York so could manage easily. I was able to get antipasto, pasta, fish and salad on the table from things I bought at the Campo de' Fiori.

Problems or Bonuses

The good surprise was the singer under the window! AND how truly adorable this little apartment is. Just as represented. No bad surprises at all! I will return!

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Lisa Byrne in the US was prompt and a pleasure to deal with. Francesca on site is charming and speaks perfect English and was waiting for me when I arrived.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Stay there again? You bet! It does have a quite small water heater so long showers are out of the question if that's of paramount importance. I LOVED it and would go back in a heartbeat!

Things to do in this area

There is so much to do in this area! I couldn't fit it into 100 pages! You are smack dab in the heart of Rome! Lisa will give you a list of restaurants and shops to get you started, but you will find plenty on your own! In less than 2 minutes you are at the banks of the Tiber to cross over to Trastevere. You'll go crazy shopping for food and flowers in the Campo de' Fiori! You'll be close to Museums, shops, restaurants, historical sites, etc.
