apartments on a farm near Sciacca, Sicily 
WhenNovember 2004, 1 week ReviewVerdetecinica is a collection of apartments in a large farmhouse with an additional separate building on the same property. I feel that the pictures on the website are very accurate. We stayed in the separate house which was originally an outbuilding on the property. Our hosts, Pascale and Salvatore, have just recently converted it to a house. It has two stories: living room and dining area and kitchen on the first floor. There is also a bathroom with a shower. The living room has a piano in it. There is a CD player (lots of CD’s to choose from in the office) and a TV with CNN and BBC. Also there is a small fireplace. Upstairs are three bedrooms; one is larger than the others. One has twin beds in it. There is a sitting area and a bath with tub and handheld shower. Hot water was plentiful. The kitchen has a gas cooktop and a microwave and a toaster. There is no baking oven. It is well equipped with pots. There is central heat and the windows all have screens. Out back is a small garden with a covered cooking area and tables and chairs. This is a fairly simple, comfortable place to stay. The hosts are wonderful and have many suggestions and hints if asked. It is a good location, easily accessible from the main road and far enough from the center of Sciacca to be very quiet. Sciacca is a good location for exploring western and central Sicily.
