Review 1267: Brigolante Guest Apartments, Apartment

Review by aileen21 from CT

apartments on a farm near Assisi, Umbria

9-25-04 to 10-2-04, one week

Brigolante lived up to and even exceeded our expectations in every way. It is beautifully sited in Mt. Subasio national park, a five minute drive from Assisi. It was easy to take day trips, which we did every day. There was a wonderful, conveniently located grocery in Assisi, and a large supermarket close by as well.

We ate the farm's eggs, home-made pasta, olive oil, honey, fig jam, and wine, and Rebecca, who runs the vacation rentals, invited us to help ourself to the garden produce as well. We cooked dinner at home most evenings, and found the kitchen well supplied for this. Rebecca was always available when we had questions to ask about our next day's trip. All this made for a perfect stay.

We were a group of six, so we filled the entire place, which consists of 3 apartments. Thought slightly different, each apartment was clean, comfortable, well supplied with everything we needed, and full of little graceful touches, like a beautiful piece of pottery, or an arrangement of flowers and vegetables.

Brigolante is a treasure and I hope we have a chance to return there.
