2bed/2bath apartment near Campo dei Fiori, Rome WhenJanuary 14 - 23, 2005, 8 nights LocationLocated on Via Dei Banchi Vecchi, right in the center of the historical center of Rome. 5 minutes walk to the Campo Di Fiori. Nearby AmenitiesEvery thing was so close, a coffee bar 100 feet away, wine bar across the street, grocery store 200 feet away, restaurants right next door, and even a church right across the street if you're so inclined, art and antiuque shops line the street. Perfect location, we walked everywhere. The House/ApartmentThe apartment is in a historical building, you can read about it on the Dolce Roma website. The building was in good shape. The building was peaceful, at the time of our visit, there was someone living upstairs, never heard from him though, no other rentals in the building. GardenNone. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasInside the apartment was great, very clean, spotless in fact, and very comfortable. However, there was only one sofa in the living area which sat two comfortably, and three squeezing a bit. The other seats were chairs around a small round table. It could do with one more comfortable chair. It really wasn't a problem though. The furniture was in excellent shape, and the apartment was well decorated. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe beds and bedrooms were very comfortable. One bedroom is smaller than the other, which is where my wife and I slept. Two full bathrooms, small of course (what bathroom in Rome isn't?) with enclosed showers. Excellent. KitchenKitchen seemed very usable, we just didn't use it, as we ate out for every meal. Stove, oven fridge, freezer, sink, dishwasher, cupboards, dishes, pots and pans, everything you need basically. We did use the fridge to keep drinks, yogurt, etc. and the dishwasher was great to have since we didn't have to hand wash all the glasses we used. Everything about the kitchen was good. If we were staying longer than a week, we might have used it to cook, and I'm sure it would have been great. Problems or BonusesBig Bonus - the landlord/owner providing a cell phone! We were able to be in touch with our family and small children back home whenever we wanted. This wasn't a surprise though as the owner let us know this would be the case before hand. Another Bonus, a second full bathroom had been added!! Hmmmm, bad? nothing I can think of. Other than there was some work being done in the apartment below us, someone must be renovating, but we were not at the apartment much during the day, so no bother. Agency and Representatives (and price)The owner/landlord, Natalia Bianchi, treated us supurbly from the very begining. Very easy to deal with by email, very responsive to questions, arranged well priced transportation from the airport for us, was waiting for us at the apartment when we arrived, showed us everything, as well as recommended things to do in the area and in Rome. She called us a few times during our 8 days to make sure everything was ok (it was). She even went out of her way to come back to the apartment on our first evening to help me with the italian phone card I bought to call home with (all the instructions were in Italian, which I speak very little of and poorly at that). Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? When we return to Rome, we will be staying here again. I would recommend it to anyone! You just can't beat the location. It's a great apartment, and the agency/owner was awesome. I really couldn't recommend it more higly! Great price too! Things to do in this areaummmmm everything? Everything is so close, just pick a direction and start walking! We loved the coffee bar on the corner, the owners/barrista were so nice! Didn't eat at the restaurants right there, but they looked good. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
