efficiency apartments near the Spanish Steps, Rome WhenNovember 2004, 2 days LocationThis apartment was in the palazzo directly on the Spanish Steps, on the left side, at Piazza di Spagna 20. Our terrace was on the same level as the first landing of the Spanish Steps. There was a side entrance that was right at the entrance to the subway and to the entrance to the Borghese Gardens and Galoppatolo car park. Incredible location! Nearby AmenitiesAll the conveniences of the Piazza di Spagna were at our disposal. The House/ApartmentThe Internazionale Domus is on the third and fourth floors of the Palazzo Pierret, which was built in the 15th century, and is in excellent condition, with beautiful marble stairways. There are a number of apartments and smaller suites. All are reached by a small lift at the street level of the main entrance at Piazza di Spagna 20. GardenOur apartment, Apt. B, had a private terrace with a table and chairs directly on the first landing of the Steps. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasApt. B was a beautiful place with parquet floors and great furnishings. Bedrooms/BathroomsMaster bedroom had a very comfortable double bed and a wall safe. The was a second bedroom with a single bed, and, if I'm not mistaken, both couches in the living room had sleeper beds in them. There was one large bathroom with designer Italian tile, and a bathtub with a shower. It was totally beautiful. It even had a towel warmer! KitchenThe kitchen was large, with room for a table and chairs, with enough pots, pan, dishes and utensils. We did not actually cook there, except to make morning coffee, but it would not have been a problem if we had. The stove and refrigerator were large, and there was a basket of packaged cake and muffins, and the refrigerator had bottled water, fruit drinks, and milk for our coffee for our use. Problems or BonusesWe had originally reserved Apt. A, but because there were problems with the heating, were given the larger and more expensive Apt. B, for the same price. There are many locked doors to provide great security. Agency and Representatives (and price)We booked this apartment directly through their website. There is someone on duty from 10 AM until 8 PM who was very helpful and who spoke English. The apartment is even nicer in person than it shows on its very professional webpage. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We would definitely stay here again. The location is incredible, the apartment is beautiful, and the staff person was friendly and helpful. Things to do in this areaOn the Spanish Steps in Rome. What else can be said? This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
