Review 1427: Summer in Italy, Villa Federica
3bed/3bath villa in Praiano, Amalfi Coast, Campania
April 30 - May 7 2005, one week
In small seaside town; halfway up a steep hill.
Stiff walk down 150-odd steps to nearest groceries and restaurants, or a five-minute drive.
Individual house, old but very well renovated.
Small garden and terrace, both with fabulous views.
Top marks on all above criteria.
Very high standard.
Small kitchen; probably not suitable for cooking large meals for more than 4 or 5 people but perfectly adequate for an average family.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
We had an excellent holiday at Villa Federica. The house was exactly as portrayed on Summer in Italy's first-class site: comfortable, adequately (if not luxuriously) equipped and with the most stunning views of any accommodation any of us had ever stayed in... the steps were hard work, especially with a two-year-old to carry, but in the end only added to the place's charm: you really felt you had earned that view from the terrace.
Summer in Italy's service was excellent -- it managed the difficult trick of being both personal and highly professional.
In short, we would unhesitatingly recommend Villa Federica to friends, but we probably won't because we'd like to have a reasonable chance of being able to return to it next year!
