Review 1458: Amalfi Coast Rental (Primula), Bacio Del Sole

Review by Lorna and Barry from England

1bed/1bath apartment in Praiano, Campania

May 2005, 10 days

Situated in the quieter town of Praiano, between Positano and Amalfi, we much preferred this area. The apartment was situated in a residential area. The area we found to be more relaxing than the other usual tourist towns.

Nearby Amenities

The bars and excellent restaurants were nearby but there were 200 steps down; however, we did not mind as it was typical of the coastline towns and has to be expected. Excellent grocery shop and Genaro's restaurant we found to be excellent food and service.

The House/Apartment

Excellent accommodation for two people. The apartment was larger than we had anticipated and the terrace was extremely large and gave us one of the best views from Praiano, overlooking the sea and Positano. Beautiful by day and by night.

The terrace as described above was just fabulous. Well shaded if needed, or full sun if wished. There is also another terrace completely in the shade for eating.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Very good furniture and extremely clean throughtout.

Comfortable beds, and sufficient wardrobe space, lighting.

Enough for two - though a kettle would have been useful!

Problems or Bonuses

Dominic and Luisa who helped us with the rental and checking in were always extremely helpful, especially when our flight was cancelled and we had to arrive a day late! Thanks to you both. The apartment exceeded our expectations and I cannot say enough about the view!

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Excellent; good English and published information and video clip accurate. We considered it very good value.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We are hoping to return next Spring and would recommend the apartment to anyone who loves relaxing and admiring the views.

Things to do in this area

Boat trip to Capri - the two hour trip there well worth it as you can see the coastline. Don't bother with the Blue Grotto on the way but instead visit the "Emerald Cave/Grotto" just outside Praiano. Minori is a beautiful little town to visit and eat in the local square. We just loved the whole area.
